wire 2026, the world's leading trade fair for the wire and cable industry, has come to a close in Düsseldorf. It ran from 13 to 17 April alongside Tube, and for Steelgroup it is time to look back on five intense days.
The figures show just how central the event remains. wire and Tube brought together 2,600 exhibitors from 65 countries across some 119,000 square metres and 16 halls, with trade visitors travelling from 130 countries. Alongside long-standing industry players, many new faces came to the stands, a clear sign of a market in motion that is redrawing its points of reference.
The backdrop was far from easy. Geopolitical tensions, disrupted supply chains, high tariffs and scarce raw materials set the tone for the entire event. Yet the atmosphere in the halls was anything but cautious: the prevailing feeling was that of an industry determined to look ahead and build new solutions.
This is exactly the takeaway from our stand in Hall 11. Demand for reliable materials, solid producers and more secure supply chains was clearly on the rise, and it met the offer of the group's four companies:
MAB – Cold Drawn Steel Bars
ITA – High Carbon Steel Wire
FAR – Tempered Steel Wire ITW-OTW
CB – PC Wire and Strand
Over these days we strengthened relationships with long-standing customers and opened conversations with new international partners, many of whom are reviewing their sourcing strategies. Consistent quality, process documentation and continuity of supply were at the heart of every discussion, together with the major trends that shaped the fair: artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable energies and the energy transition.
We would like to thank everyone who visited us. Now the work continues: turning the meetings in Düsseldorf into concrete projects, with the same promise that has always guided us, Steel confidence.
See you at the next edition, from 3 to 7 April 2028.
