From May 6 to 8, 2025, Steelgroup took part in Made in Steel, the most important Conference & Exhibition in Southern Europe dedicated to the steel industry. Once again, MAB, CB, FAR, and ITA – the four companies of the Group – were present with a shared identity, representing the value of innovation and industrial synergy.
The 2025 edition took on even greater significance in a time of major transformation for the sector. As Andrea Beri, CEO of ITA S.p.A., stated:
"Made in Steel 2025 it's an important moment for the steel world to meet and exchange ideas. We are experiencing a very complex context, and for this reason, this edition of the Conference & Exhibition takes on even greater importance. Through the rich program of conferences, we explored all the key issues facing the Italian and European steel industry."
The market context continues to be challenging. Between January and November 2024, Italy produced 18.81 million tonnes of steel, a 4.7% decrease compared to the same period in 2023 (source: Federacciai). In contrast, the European Union saw a slight increase of 2.1% in production from January to October, with Germany – the continent’s leading producer – reaching 31.6 million tonnes (+5%).
The steel sector continues to suffer from weak downstream demand and intense distribution competition. Steel product prices have been fluctuating between stable and downward trends for months, with some upward attempts not always welcomed by the downstream market.
Still, operators are looking to 2025 with cautious optimism, expecting market conditions to improve from the second or third quarter. Meanwhile, forecasts indicate a modest increase in steel demand.
In this context, Made in Steel represented a valuable opportunity for Steelgroup to engage in dialogue, stay up to date, and share its vision. The event was the ideal meeting point to strengthen relationships, gather market insights, and reaffirm the Group’s commitment to a more integrated, resilient, and competitive future.
We thank all those who visited our stand: for us, dialogue remains the strongest foundation on which to build tomorrow.
